Angling Tourism in Carmarthenshire's Rivers

Carmarthenshire has some excellent river fishing for trout, sea trout and salmon.  The River Towy and its tributaries such as the Cothi is arguably the jewel in the crown with some of the best sea trout (or 'sewin' as they are locally known) fishing in the UK.

Depending on the rules of the angling association or private beat and the current river height / clarity, the methods employed vary from fly fishing at night to the fly, worm or spinning during the day.

In addition to the wonderful sport, the scenery of Carmarthenshire makes a fantastic backdrop to any time spent on the water, waiting for that pull on the other end of the line.

In this section we give a flavour of where to fish, stay and buy fishing tackle for a memorable time.
Tight lines...

Thanks to Steffan Jones for kindly allowing the CRT to use some of his excellent photographic stills.
